This position works within Firmware/Software Engineering as a part of the New
Product Development team with specific responsibilities related to designing,
documenting, and developing embedded device drivers.
1. Design, code, debug, and test assigned software, software improvements,
and software modifications in a quality manner consistent with company and
departmental standards and procedures.
2. Document designs and code or update preexisting documentation as appropriate
with context, data flow and/or state diagrams, structure and flow charts,
pseudocode, and source statement commentary.
3. Test designs or code under specified and/or reasonable conditions under which
it may operate.
4. Keep abreast of developments in the field of software languages, techniques,
and methods.
5. Investigate problems and recommend solutions. Implement any required
corrective action.
6. Advise and assist superiors in the design or modification of software.
7. Accurately estimate time to complete tasks. Upon accepting the estimates of
others, complete the task to schedule in a timely manner.
8. Support development, evaluation, revision, and/or refinement of computer
programming techniques and standards, languages, and other tools.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 4 to
7 years experience.
C++, Network and Device Driver, Test Driven Development, Design Patterns
required.
Must be willing to participate in projects that utilize the Agile development
philosophy.
