Responsibilities::
Specific duties include:
-Development of new optical designs
-Development of detailed optical tolerance and performance analysis
-Development of requirements analysis and flow down
-Provide general support of laboratory optical alignment and testing
-Provide cost and schedule reporting
Organization Relationships:
-Present technical presentations to management and customers
-Interface with mechanical design team to develop optical support structures
-Interface with supply chain and vendors to support procurement of optical
components and subsystems
Job Requirements::
Managerial Experience:
-Able to communicate effectively using both verbal and writing skills
-Experience providing technical and managerial support to a multi-disciplinary
team
Technical Requirements:
* 10 years experience with airborne or spaceborne instrument design and
calibration (will consider candidate with significant verifiable experience in
spaceborne instrument design and analysis)
-Experience performing complex data analysis using common software tools (Excel,
MathCad, etc.)
-Experience with Optical Design and Analysis tools such as CODEV, ASAP, APART,
FRED, ORDAS, Zemax, with a minimum of 8 years experience using CODE V
Desired Technical Skills:
-Knowledge and experience with analysis tools such as Matlab, MathCad,
Mathematica, and C/C++
-Experience with exchanging surface topography, and geometry files between Code
V and Pro E analysis tools a plus
-R6 Sigma certification is highly desired
Clearance Requirements:
-Ability to obtain SSBI
Education and Training:
-A Master of Science in Engineering, Physics or Optics is required
-MS or PhD. in Optical Sciences with a specialty in Optical System Design is
preferred
