Job Description
Business Name: Textron Defense Systems, Kauai, Hawaii
Function: Engineering
Reports to: Director of Hawaii Operations
Job Summary: Manage, develop, plan and organize Hawaii Operations’ Kauai
Facility.
Responsibilities to Include:
Functioning in a program management role, developing, planning, organizing
and assigning the workflow of a team of engineers, technicians and
administrative personnel to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and
within budget
Assuming responsibility for establishing and modifying departmental methods
and processes and implementing company policies and procedures in relation to
functional activities.
Exerting influence in the development of overall objectives and long-range
goals of the organization.
Assuming responsibility for all aspects of management/leadership, including
but not limited to, employee training, motivation and counseling.
Education:Position typically calls for a Masters Degree with 5+ years of
related experience, or a Bachelors Degree with 7+ years of related experience,
or an Associates Degree with 10+ years of related experience. Extensive
experience leading successful proposal or product development teams.
Position Requirements: Background must include resolving technical
issues, creating and managing budgets, interviewing and hiring staff, developing
schedules, and serving as the liaison between the customer and a technical team.
Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering investigations to ferret out
root causes of flaws and the implementation of corrective actions, test
verification of the efficacy of a new design is also desired.
License and Certification Requirements:
This position requires use of information which is subject to the International
Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within
