The Materials and Process Engineering (M&PE) Program Lead will be accountable for ensuring M&PE processes and disciplines are implemented in the program. Expected to apply extensive advanced technical expertise and concepts and have full knowledge of related disciplines. Candidate will review design applications to leverage common processes technologies, parts and materials. Candidate may act independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs. Work performed will be self initiated. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Candidate will be responsible for ensuring M&PE disciplines are included in the design process; identification of key materials, processes including evaluation of supply sources; material properties used for structural and thermal analyses. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve organizational objectives and affect the image of the organization's technical capability. This position will require frequent contact with Senior Program Management, Integrated Product Development Teams and Functional Engineering.

Required Skills: Bachelor of Science degree with at least 8 years experience in Materials and Process Engineering or related Discipline. Experience with the Integrated Product Development Process including Gate, Program, Design and Peer Reviews as presenter and reviewer. Proven leadership skills and able to coordinate with other disciplines and subject matter experts. Excellent technical writing skills for reports and specifications using MS Word and Excel; good platforms skills using PowerPoint for presentations. Experience with cost/schedule generation and reporting; risk management; specification flow down.


Desired Skills: Bachelor of Science degree with at least 15 years experience in Materials and Process Engineering or related Discipline or Advanced degree with at least 10 years experience in Materials and Process Engineering or related discipline. Raytheon Six Sigma certification desired but not required.

Required Education (including Major): Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy/Metallurgical Engineering.
