Position
Description:
The Chief Engineer directly supervises stationary, utility and apprentice engineers involved in the maintenance of the hospital building and grounds, as well as related fixed and portable equipment and installation, while maintaining a safe environment. The Chief supervises the operational and maintenance of stationary engines and mechanical systems that provide services such as light, heating and cooling and power to the hospital. Directly supervises in-house painters as well as outside contractors and vendors. Schedules/prioritizes staff and work assignments. Applies CHW cord values to the performance of every job duty. Qualifications &
Requirements:
Completion of Local 39 Apprenticeship Program. 3 or more years as an assistant chief, including over 5 years as a journeyman stationary engineer or similar tradesman.
