JOB TITLE: Production Engineer
LOCATION: Houston, Texas

The Production Engineer will provide mechanical and
electrical technical support for existing product production and new product
introductions and resolve technical product and process problems in the
manufacturing of Millar components and products at Millar and suppliers. The
individual will utilize word processing, mechanical solid model CAD and
electrical printed circuit board layout CAD programs as needed to create or
change component and product specifications and procedures as well as write
and execute Installation Qualification / Operational Qualification /
Performance Qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) protocols for hardware and software
process equipment and systems.
Responsibilities:
This position requires both hands-on mechanical and
electrical technician skills and the ability to exercise independent
engineering judgment on mechanical, electrical and electronic issues
relating to product specifications and product manufacturing and testing
processes as well as the following:
Create, review and correct as needed any kind of product or
process engineering documentation required in the manufacturing or purchase
of Millar components or products
Resolve Corrective Action requests
Create tooling and test fixtures related to new or released
products
Assist in new product development concurrent engineering
activities such as design control and prototype builds
Perform verification and/or validation testing of Millar
products during product development or post production design changes
Write verification and/or validation protocols and report for
both product and processes
Assist in non-conforming material or Defect Report (DR)
resolutions
Oversee project activities and manage and maintain project
timelines
Assist manufacturing regarding problem resolution
Perform PCB layout under the direction of Senior Engineer
using electrical CAD tools
Create mechanical drawings using mechanical solid model CAD
tools
Give direction to Engineering Technicians
Work with outside companies to perform subcontracting for new
and existing products
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelors degree in
Electrical Engineering or a similar 4 year degree OR an Associates degree or
equivalent from a 2 year college or technical school, combined with
technical background work experience. 5 years of experience in engineering
product development and process support in a medical device manufacturing
environment or equivalent related technical experience required. Must
possess software knowledge of production ERP software, mechanical solid
model CAD software, electrical printed circuit board layout software, MS
Word software, Access database, Excel, MS Project and National Instruments
LabView systems.
