Our Denver, Colorado Transportation Planning unit is looking to add a Transportation Engineer/Environmental Planner to their team.  Responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Being a team player in Transportation Planning sub-unit    
  • Working closely between traffic engineering, transportation planning, and environmental planning groups    
  • May involve technical analysis and evaluations, development of project related solutions, transportation planning, environmental documentation, traffic engineering, report writing, research, public involvement, task and project management, marketing and coordination

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering or equivalent degree in a transportation related planning field    
  • Minimum of 6 years progressively challenging and responsible experience in the transportation planning/transportation engineering field    
  • Computer programs including MS Word, Excel, GIS, and traffic engineering/planning software    
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) required    
  • Working understanding of transportation planning principles, environmental (NEPA) evaluation/documentation, and traffic engineering required    
  • Strong analytical skills required    
  • Strong communication/public involvement skills required and ability to work in a team environment highly encouraged    
  • Ability to market for transportation related projects strongly desired    
  • Ability to manage large tasks or small projects strongly desired
