Charles Abbott Associates (CAA), a private engineering/consulting firm, provides private development engineering plan review and construction management services to the City of Moorpark under a municipal engineering consultant contract.

Under the direct supervision of a CAA project manager for the City of Moorpark contract, this position will perform Assistant Civil Engineering duties and responsibilities to include:

Reviews of civil engineering plans for private development projects for compliance with City ordinances and conditions of approval, accepted engineering standards and construction codes, and applicable State guidelines.

Reviews of entitlement tentative map and site plan private development projects and recommendations for site specific conditions of approval associated with entitlement projects.

Prepares City Council staff agenda reports for private development engineering projects.

Administers public works encroachment permits and provides assistance to engineering questions from the public at the City counter.

 

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and 2+ years of associate level professional experience in civil engineering design including grading, streets, storm drains, and hydrology/hydraulics. An EIT is highly desirable.
