Judge Professional is working with a well known manufacturing company in
Maryland looking to add a Wireless Design Engineer specialist to their team!
Specialized or technical knowledge, credentials or licensing required for the
position include:
CCNA/CCNP preferred. Good knowledge of network design, configuration and
implementation of 802.11 wireless technology, including device management. A
good understanding of wireless network security, including WEP, WPA, WPA2. The
design engineer must display specific knowledge of the design (including
security), implementation, and management of an enterprise 802.11a/b/g wireless
infrastructure.
Candidate makes project decisions on a day-to-day basis about the design and
implementation of additions or changes to existing data infrastructure. Provides
guidance, and recommendations to customers on hardware, software, and project
procedures.
This associate has major input and latitude on design and implementation of
network hardware and software. Daily informal meetings with project team members
and managers, formal weekly meetings with project team, customers, outside
vendors/suppliers or others, formal monthly meeting with telecom manager to
review projects and status, frequent outside contacts with vendors and suppliers
of equipment and services.
Job Requirements
1. Research, analyze, design and implement 802.11a/b/g wireless network
products and services which meet customer requirements and/or solve business
problems for all company locations using the appropriate project management
skills. These must align with the Corporate and I/T Mission, Strategies,
Objectives, and Goals.
2. Be proactive in the identification of new or changing technologies, which
provide cost or service benefits to the customer/company.
3. Lead data and/or voice projects, this includes customer communication,
project administration, requesting resources and reporting. Identify, surface
and resolve project issues.
4. Support telecommunications in meeting availability and reliability objectives
of the different customer areas. Design and test the recoverability of the
defined network products and services for Disaster Recovery.
5. Create a team infrastructure by helping other associates and customers learn
and use the appropriate products and services, while adhering to the Corporate
standards.
6. Actively support the Team Management and quality Improvement Process through
demonstrated commitment to its concepts and tools (teambuilding, zero defects,
measurement, goal setting, process models, OFI, etc)
