Job Description:
The Senior Project Manager functions as the Project Manager for structural engineering projects, primarily involving transportation infrastructure structures including bridges, tunnels, walls, seismic retrofit, and inspections.

Applicant will serve as primary client contact for multiple projects in excess of $2,500,000 of construction costs. Has full managerial responsibility for all aspects of the project including negotiating extras, cost control, staffing and quality control. Responsibilities include securing profitable new work, estimating fees, determining scope of work, preparing proposals and contracts on large or multiple projects. Actively manage client's budget, schedule and program; HNTB budget and schedule; project communications and documentation. Satisfy client requirements. Coordinate work efforts and review work performed.

Applicant will be required to lead planning, design and construction phases of projects, and must have strong structural analysis and structural detailing skills. Extensive experience in preparing construction plans, specifications, and cost estimating documents is required. The applicant must have a strong understanding of structural design aspects of transportation projects.

Responsibilities may include hiring, supervision, development, evaluation, and termination of staff members.

Preference is given to applicants who have solid experience an proven record of working as a private consultant Project Manager working on projects for transportation agencies including BART, Caltrans, Caltrain, UPRR, Golden Gate Bridge District, and Valley Transportation Authority,

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required
Master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred
Past Experience as a Project Manager on multi-disciplinary projects is required
10-20 years of relevant work experience performing engineering tasks of increasing responsibility

Caltrans or BART design experience is preferred
Railroad bridge design experience is preferred
Structural engineering software (SAP2000, BDS) experience is preferred
Knowledge of Steel and Concrete Design is required
Knowledge of Seismic Design is required
Auto CADD and Micro station experience is a plus

A California PE License is required
