This position involves design,
analysis, and test support for the Bell military and commercial product line,
including helicopters, tiltrotors, and UAVs. The Fatigue & Fracture group is
responsible for establishing structural component lives, inspection and
replacement intervals, establishing structural testing requirements, and for
analyzing and monitoring flight test data to ensure safety of flight and
continued operational readiness. The successful Fatigue & Fracture engineer is
familiar with structural mechanics, fatigue and fracture mechanics. Fatigue &
Fracture engineers interface with structural analysis and design organizations,
materials & processes and structural test laboratories, flight test, and
military and civil qualification/certification authorities.
Requirements:
BS in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering
8 years of applicable experience including aircraft
structural mechanics, fatigue and/or fracture
mechanics
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
Experience in helicopter structures, fatigue & fracture
mechanics
