Description
The VP of Engineering will be responsible for all day-to-day operations of the software engineering & quality assurance teams. The successful candidate will have very strong organizational & Project management skills, along with a solid software development background as well as a proven history of providing leadership in high up-time environments & building a team in a dynamic startup environment. The VP of Engineering also participates in executive staff meetings & has involvement in all product & software development decisions.

Requirements:
- Extensive software Product Development experience
- Experience shipping numerous commercial products through multiple release cycles
- Experience with multi-site (including int'l) development involving multiple partner & customer developers.
- Development of client/server products with technologies such as Java, Tomcat, JSP, Apache & Linux.
- Strong academic background mostly likely in CS or Applied Mathematics
- Strong knowledge of SW engineering methodologies
- Creation of media-oriented products & 3D experience a plus
- Test methodologies & release control
- Telecom-related experience a plus
- Knowledge of mobile platforms a plus
- Familiarity with high up-time environments
- Aptitude to blend engineering strategies from biz dev., marketing, & strategic requirements
- Proven ability to recruit, motivate & retain a strong technical team
- Effective communication including strong oral & written communication skills in English to investors,
- Thrives in a dynamic organizational environment
- Proven track record of building a quality engineering organization
