Civil Engineer Job -> Excellent opportunity for a
Civil Engineer (structures) located in the Portland, OR area. BS degree in
Civil Engineering is required. 3-5 years experience in Civil/Structural
engineering or construction. This person will be the only one in the role of
Tower Specialist. The right candidate will provide technical support for
Sales, Projects, and Service as well as root cause analysis to resolve field
anomalies related to foundations, towers and blades. This position will
manage certification of tower and foundation designs by outside consulting
engineers. The right candidate will evaluate calculations and foundation
designs for wind turbine towers in accordance with applicable codes &
geotechnical information. The right candidate will also support the
construction phase of the contract and service any significant issues for
retrofit and root cause analysis. The position requires a lot of technical
training. Candidate should have great organizational skills, project
management experience, and works well independently as well as on a team.
Professional communication is #1. They should have the ability to interact
with all levels of field personnel. An engineer who has worked for a
construction company is a HUGE plus. Excellent benefits package!!!
Specific tasks for this position would include but are not limited to:
-Providing technical support for sale, procurement and installation of
foundations and towers.
-Performing construction administration services pertaining to foundation
construction and tower erection.
-Performing root cause analysis to resolve technical issues related to
foundations, towers and blades.
-Coordinating engineering requirements with R&D headquarters for the release
of new wind turbine models.
-Providing ongoing technical support for in-service wind turbines.
