Lead Electronics Engineer

Responsibility for electronic/ software design analysis, design development and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) analysis score card training and implementation cross functionally This person will be required to take a leading role on scoping, business case development, engineering customer value assessment for all new innovations. This person will be responsible for maintaining a strong link between product management, marketing and sales to drive critical ctq''s down to the design and process levels for improved security products with high customer value. The position will be responsible for major functional development and individual technical growth within the New Product Engineering organization both Nationally and Globally.

Job Duties

This person will lead the electronic technical development across the sector for all functions and people. Implement and maintain the technical, process electronic and software reviews to include integrity cross functionally at the supplier level for the sector.

• Works with cross functional teams to implement DFSS and electronics strategy / supplier qualification support and required documentation at each location. This includes analysis, electronic data, drawings and supporting materials required for the technical / process reviews and phase gate New Product Development process.
• Communicate the status of technical process (electronic / software) reviews and challenge the NPE teams.
• Perform project scoping and all up front activities required by NPE to insure successful project initiation.
• Drive the DFSS Score card implementation that allows hardware and software trade-offs to insure lowest overall cost, highest reliability and best performance in the intended application.
• Perform electronic design analysis including, Spice, software Bug Tracking, FEA''s, and other electronic / software analysis.
• Possess the ability to train other engineers and process owners in the use and development of transfer of functions.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and have the ability and experience to provide capable project leadership.
• Proficient in circuit analysis and the tools required and related software applications with ability to train others.
• Work with vendors to source and evaluate purchased components and with manufacturing to produce or assemble manufactured components and assemblies.

Requirements:

• Senior Engineer level proficiency with Electronic Design Analysis, DFSS, FMEA, Test Planning and
• Evaluation, Manufacturing Processes and Analysis, Statistical Tolerance Analysis.
• Background in electro-mechanical consumer products and related firmware designs required.
• Demonstrated technical coaching and mentoring skills.
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 5-7+ Years electronic design /product design experience.
• Spice modeling or related proficiency required, PCD proficiency desired.

Hours of work required: 40+ (Full Time)

Travel % of time: 10%
