Description
As an Application Development Lead on the File Management team, you will manage
multiple projects, work with teams in multiple geographic locations, and lead a
development team consisting of employees and onshore/offshore contractors while
delivering high quality applications / releases that meet the defined business
requirements. This is accomplished by actively fulfilling and balancing
responsibilities in a number of areas as outlined below.

Project Management
-
Within the context of an overall project plan, the Development Lead will be
responsible for creating and managing a detail level plan of application development
tasks. This includes:
Determine the appropriate tasks (modules, objects, functions, services, etc.)
required to deliver application functionality.
Identify the dependencies and critical path of those tasks.
Identify and document dependencies relating to groups outside Development, including
other GCA Channel Delivery areas (BSA, Infra, Architecture, Testing, etc.), and areas
outside of GCA Channel Delivery (IT Back Office, Line of Business, etc.).
Determine the appropriate assignment of developers to tasks.
Act as a liaison to the Project Management Office to incorporate development details
into an overall project plan, report status, raise and resolve issues, and
effectively communicate with groups outside Development.
Technical Analysis, Design, and Application Architecture/Skills:
Within the context of the TSID architecture and frameworks, the Development Lead will
be responsible for determining the appropriate development environment, application
architecture, and technical direction for the project. This includes:
Understand business and functional requirements and determine the technical approach
to deliver those requirements in conjunction with Application Architects
In direct correlation with planning responsibilities, determine the appropriate
modules and dependencies.
Act as a liaison to the Architecture and Infrastructure teams to understand the
architecture and operating environment and determine the best way to leverage and
build the applications within that environment.
Act as a liaison to the Architecture and Infrastructure teams to communicate and
coordinate requirements.
Create detailed technical design specifications and participate in architecture
reviews.
Adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and
incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications.
