Kelly Scientific Resources, a division of Kelly Services, is seeking qualified candidates to fill a Research Scientist Position at a Biomedical Company in Carlsbad, CA.

NO RELOCATION EXPENSES PROVIDED.
Temp to hire position. Salary based on experience.

Responsibilities include coordinating and evaluating sensor research and development activities to provide new and or improved biosensor products to support the business goals and objectives.

Primary responsibilities include developing, testing and characterization of new electrode and membrane materials for electrochemical membrane sensors, sensor electronics and test solutions. Candidate will be responsible for the development of electrochemical functionalizations for sensor devices used in medical devices. Provide expert analysis, testing and evaluation of sensor manufacturing processes and techniques, and patentable concepts. Maintain close contact with project staff to assist in the integration of sensor and sensor designs into the overall product and manufacturing scope.

Will work as part of an interdisciplinary R&D team in the development of novel sensor and membrane designs.
Position requires a BS or MS degree in Electrochemistry, Organic Chemistry or engineering sciences. Minimum 2 years of relevant, combined experience in electrochemical sensors design, with 5 years experience with membrane synthesis and characterization. A thorough understanding of organic and inorganic chemistry, molecular chemistry, and electrochemistry is required.

Experience with polarographic and potentiometric analysis and other electrochemical measurements is also a requirement. Professional chemistry memberships and/or certifications are a plus. Direct professional experience in the medical device arena in an FDA regulated environment is preferred.

Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills and be able to interact with R&D members, sensor engineers and other staff at all levels. Abilities to develop, manage and communicate detailed project plans including timeline and critical path analysis, project budgeting and resource management, and risk identification and management.
