Plan, design, create, install, customize, upgrade and maintain databases to meet defined requirements.
Manage database structures by monitoring and adjusting the internal structures (tuning) as required to meet changing requirements. Defines, establishes and performs regular backups of designated databases.
Documents databases and the deployed applications that access or modify them. Conducts training, as required, for new users or for new applications products.
Manages the user-pool, controls access and security with the objective of providing maximum required usability.
Performs or coordinates installation of new and relocated databases and systems.
Performs systems debugging tests and develops database enhancement testing procedures.
Attends meetings and conferences as required.

Experience Requirements:
Candidates are required to have a Bachelors Degree with 6-8 years related experience. Required experience will be as follows:
* Proficiency in Oracle Application Server architecture & Portlet design, application design, development, and testing (3+ years)
* Strong proficiency in PL/SQL (3+ years) in development of the Portal website
* Proficiency (3+ years) in developing in Java/J2EE, ASP/JSP, HTML, Java Script
* Familiarity with n-tier architecture environments with MS Internet explorer, Apache/HTTP web servers, Oracle Portal, and Oracle 9i/10g databases.
* Experience in assisting junior developers and troubleshoot technical issues
* Ability to analyze the data involved and provide adhoc reports as needed
* Must have very good communication skills, be a team player, and be a self starter on software development initiatives.
