The Systems Engineer will focus on delivering in-depth, pre sales technical support and technology direction guidance to customers, Partners, and Sales teams. The Systems Engineer will assume primary responsibility for technical relationships with key accounts. Customer-facing skills, proven documentation skills and the ability to work effectively as a technical team member are critical to your success, as a SE.

A strong Operating System background in Windows or UNIX/Linux is a requirement with expertise in at least one of the two Operating Systems.

• Windows: NT, 2000, 2003. Should be proficient in configuration and troubleshooting of servers, Active Directory, domain design and CIFS/SMB. DFS, FRS experience a plus. Storage subsystem skills and storage vendor specific knowledge configuring and troubleshooting CIFS primarily with Network Appliance, EMC Cellera/Clariion and/or Direct Attached Storage.
• Unix: Solaris, Linux. BSD, Irix, AIX, HP/UX a plus. Should be well versed in configuration/troubleshooting of NFS and security. Scripting, rsync, AFS background/experience a plus with storage subsystem skills and storage vendor specific knowledge configuring and troubleshooting of NFS, SUN Solaris/SPARC and/or Direct Attached Storage.
• Network: Troubleshoot client to server issues. Solid working knowledge of high availability architectures, VLANs and Routing (L2/3) and TCP/IP.
• Backup: Understanding of backup methodologies.
• Prior SE experience is highly desirable with a minimum of 8 years field experience with proven documentation and presentation skills. IT/IS personnel who have in-depth knowledge of the required technologies and are interested in a Sales/Field Engineering position are also desired.
• The ability to display historical strength working closely with Engineering, Product Development, and Technical Support organizations is a key element of this position
