Experience: Must have 7 years of applicable experience with Navy
Defense Messaging System (DMS) operation and configuration. Must have experience
with Navy communications and a help desk operator or supervisor.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
(1)Track Non-Delivery Notices and identify causes for messages transitioning
through Naval Communications DMS systems.
(2) Report as findings as directed and work with sites to correct recurring
problems
(3) Provide additional DMS support as required
Education: Advanced degree or the equivalent years in experience. MCSE
certification is a plus.
The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience with DoD message
systems, messaging requirements applicable to the Defense Message System
architecture. Additionally, the candidate will have familiarity with all
Microsoft Exchange 5.5 servers, Windows 2000 and NT at a minimum.
The applicant should have experience writing and conducting Training, operation
and/or supervision of messaging Help Desks. The candidate must be knowledgeable
with the common communications protocols including X.400/X.500, SMTP, SNMP, and
TCP/IP.
