Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations :
Implement complex DSP (video is a plus) and packet processing using FPGAs, from
concept to production.
Team member must adhere to the FPGA team's process for source code
documentation, coding style, and source control.
Generate code for target device and for scripted/automated test benches.
Document all designs and provide support as needed to other teams and designs
for reuse and test.
Responsible for unit test of FPGA mounted on board, including FPGA to board
interfaces.
Participate in the team's design reviews and system integration.
Perform multiple tasks. May lead design tasks and work independently on new or
complex assignments.
Have strong initiative in setting and meeting goals.
Effectively participate with other team members.
Awareness of the importance of adhering to and continuously improving process.
Adopt and follow company and department quality processes.
Complete project goals and monitor status while being aware of overall program
goals.
Must have effective and thorough communication and documentation skills.^^
General Requirements:
An experienced real time FPGA engineer with a minimum of 5 years of engineering
design experience.
A minimum of 2 years of directly related experience with real- time design plus
a minimum of 2 years of FPGA design and verification experience (design start to
finish).
A 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in EE or CE from an accredited college or
university is required.
Experience Requirements:
Team member must have a BSEE (MSEE preferred) and 3+ years FPGA design
experience.
FPGA design skills required include experience with Xilinx and/or Altera devices
and design entry with Verilog or VHDL.
Experience with multiple clock domain designs, Serdes and clock forwarded high
speed interfaces.
Test/Verification experience at unit level, board level, system level.
Responsibilities include logic design, test bench development, automated
simulation/verification, run time test and diagnostic circuits, and test vector
generation.
Processing experience should include DSP, packet processing, switch fabric,
microcode machines, pipeline, video application layer processing, encapsulation,
classification, traffic management.
Must have knowledge of IP, Ethernet MAC, soft processors, DDR2 memory
interfaces.
Theoretical knowledge of digital communications systems; coding theory and
modulation a plus.
Familiarity with networking concepts and design.
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, good teamwork
attitude and attention to detail.
