Sr. Machinist Specialist (Swing Shift) We have an immediate career opportunity for a Sr. Machinist Specialist in our Machining & Manufacturing Department on the Swing Shift. This is a challenging role in which you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and skill while you support some of the most advanced projects in the satellite industry. You will provide efficient set up and operation of standard machinery and support equipment. Your key responsibilities will be to provide tooling concepts and develop tooling as required for cost reduction, reliability, and producibility. In addition, you will perform work on time sensitive, complex assignments in order to meet schedule requirements in a safe, efficient manner, and comply with all machine shop safety practices. You will also perform deburr and cleanup on completed parts, and inspect completed work to assure quality.
Minimum Requirements: High School or equivalent experience, plus four or more years journey level machining experience to include two years of hands-on CNC machining experience. You must have a working knowledge of machining characteristics of typical aerospace materials, composites, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing; and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of shop math and trigonometry. The ability to read and understand shop work orders, drawings, ECOs, standards, procedures, and Material Safety Data Sheets; and the ability to program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes is required. Must be able to work swing shift.
