KSHB-TV, the NBC affiliate in Kansas City, is looking for a seasoned broadcast
engineer to join our staff. Qualified candidate should have at least 2 years
of college or technical school training majoring in electronics and 3 years
experience as a broadcast engineer. Must comprehend schematics, mechanical
drawings and technical manuals. Valid CDL and FCC license is required. No

Examples of Duties Performed:

1) Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on all aspects of
television equipment.
2) Maintain the RF side of our Satellite Trucks and Microwave Units.
3) Perform preventative maintenance and upgrades on Television Transmitters,
Satellite Trucks, Microwave units, RF units and test equipment. Have a working
knowledge of Video Servers, News Room Computer Systems, and Non-Linear
editors, broadcast cameras, switchers, routers and miscellaneous studio and
broadcast equipment. Have strong mechanical skills.
4) Install video, audio, RF, and computer equipment.
5) Document and keep records of equipment repairs and maintenance schedules.
6) Research part numbers and pricing.
7) Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
8) Able to work nights and weekends
Requirement:
EDUCATION: 2 years of college or technical school majoring in an Electrical
related field and or RF is required.
EXPERIENCE: 3 years of broadcast TV maintenance preferred.
LICENSE: Valid Driver's License and proof of insurability.
SKILLS/ Flexible schedule required. Must comprehend schematics,
ABILITIES: mechanical drawings and technical manuals. Must be physically adept
to lift and transport equipment up to 50 pounds. Ability to work and
communicate with others is required.
