Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform all duties related to the monitoring, maintenance and operation of combined cycle power plant equipment; ensure proper operation of combustion turbine, steam turbine, generator, heat recovery steam generators, water treatment equipment, air pollution control equipment, etc. Position/configure plant equipment such as, but not limited to: opening and closing of valves, starting/stopping of pumps and compressors, visual inspection of the combustion process. Oil and operated pumps, motors and auxiliary equipment and clean condensers, water filters, and oil filters as required. Obtain moderate proficiency in Control Room Operator's duties. Relieve Control Room Operator for short periods of time. Test and treat boiler water, cooling water, de-mineralized water, etc., maintain data logs. Normally works the rotating shift schedule. Perform plant and facility maintenance, cleanup and housekeeping.

 

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 2 - 5 years experience in a combination of related power operations, plant electrical/mechanical maintenance, planning and coordination of other related work experience or related military training. Must possess a working knowledge of plant systems, normal and emergency procedures, equipment assignments.

 

Educational Requirements:

High School diploma or recognized equivalent. Specialized in the operation of Plant Operations, Mechanical/Electrical instrument technology is desired. Special Skills: Specialized training in one of the following: safety, environmental compliance, instrument, controls, electrical, computer systems, distributed control systems or combustion turbine equipment.
