Position Description:
Develop firmware for intelligent storage controllers produced by LSI Storage
Components Group. The primary focus is IO and RAID operations implemented in C
and C++ for PowerPC or ARM-based microprocessors. Product features are
implemented to customer requirements and based on standards developed in INCITS
T10 committee. These include a variety of related technical reports defining the
SAS, SCSI, and SATA protocols.
The position requires solid embedded design, coding, and troubleshooting skills.
In addition to interaction with system processors, PCI bus, other PCI
components, peripherals, and resident operating system - development and debug
will involve the use of software debuggers, ICEs, and protocol or logic
analyzers.
Documentation is required to maintain a history of events and provide
internal/external partners with insight on product design. The position requires
good written communication skills and the ability to verbally communicate
additional details.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in EE, CE, or CS plus minimum 10-12 years storage
experience,
or
Masters Degree in EE, CE, or CS plus minimum 8-10 years storage experience.
Demonstrated leadership and applied experience in the analysis, design,
implementation, and trouble-shooting of IO and RAID firmware for intelligent
storage controllers. Significant development experience and knowledge of
microprocessors, real-time embedded programming, computer architecture, and IO
systems.
Proven skills in C and C++ programming.
Experience with protocol analyzers, In-Circuit Emulators, and software debug
tools.
