The RF applications engineer will be responsible for developing, testing and supporting system solutions based on our RF IC products. The duties include developing radio hardware incorporating our radio products, toubleshooting and problem solving during development, tuning, testing and productization of the mobile devices, developing data sheets, writing application notes and programmer's guides. Customer support activities will include providing RF technical product support at the component level, as well as managing the customer's interests with the company's sales, marketing, design and manufacturing groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical interface to customers and partners, provide first level support on all technical issues.
  • Identify and solve technical issues during design, validation and productization phase.
  • Provide the marketing organization and field applications engineers with technical support.
  • Specify and design evalution boards for demonstration of our products to customers.
  • Develop S/W and H/W tools for our RF ICs.
  • Create support documentation.
  • Provide feedback for product modifications and improvements to the IC design teams.
  • Assist in design verification and testing of our integrated circuits.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an RF design in GSM/GPRS/EDGE or CDMA or WCDMA.
  • Good knowledge of measuring RF parameters in a phone environment.
  • Proven track record of successful debug of product issues at RF IC and system level.
  • Participation at RF IC validation in the lab and during a customer project.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital modulation schemes (AMPS, GSM, TDMA, CDMA, WCDMA).
  • Strong mixed-signal board design and mixed-signal components experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debug skills.
  • Working knowledge of: Schematic capture and PCB layout (OrCAD, PADS, or equivalent EDA tool), RF simulation tools, Visual Basic and/or C programming, Laboratory test equipment.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to travel, also for extended periods of time.

Education:

  • MSEE+3 years or BSEE+5 years of RF design and product experience.
  • Foreign language skills in Korean, Chinese or Japanese are a plus
