Responsibilitys:

• Determines and recommends design direction and methodology for opto / mechanical components, subsystems and less-complex systems in area of opto/mechanics. The instrument systems may contain a mixture of optics, software, electronics and hardware components.
• Leads effort to generate and maintain systems definition and documentation.
• Leads design and development of breadboard models for feasibility.
• Uses independent judgement to assess project technical status and determine the means to overcome technical problems.
• Works with cross-functional teams to oversee the integration of systems components.
• Leads system level engineering verification efforts.
• Determines and manages validation test activities and prepares the appropriate documentation.
• Works on complex problems where analysis of data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
• Receives project level direction and is responsible for determining schedule and priority for self and others. Direction is both verbal and written. Receives no guidance on repetitive tasks.
• Takes guidance from system design requirements documents.
• Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• May be responsible for managing engineering personnel.

• BS in Engineering related discipline required (Physics, Optics, Opto/Mechanics); MS plus 1 year of directly related technical experience will be considered
• Minimum of least eight years of direct technical experience resulting in successful components or subassemblies, successful product applications, and successful product development processes related to Company technology, or equivalent combination of related education and experience..
