Job Description:
-
Product design for tactical handheld and manpack radios, power amplifiers and
accessories specifically in the areas of FPGA design, digital and COMSEC
functionality.
-
Responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic
parts, components or circuitry for electronic equipment or other hardware
systems.
-
Consults with software and/or mechanical engineers and other engineering staff
to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational
performance requirements of the overall system.
-
Support multi-source component and PCB development, validation and second
source approval.
-
Find, and approve alternate components for part shortages or obsolescence.
-
Help resolve supplier technical issues.
-
A thorough understanding of complex digital timing issues is required, with an
extensive background in synthesis, simulation, timing analysis and system
integration.

Must be familiar with circuit board level, ASIC or FPGA design. Must be
proficient with CAE tools, including VHDL.

Determine design approaches and parameters.
-
Analyze requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost
constraints. Propose, lead, evaluate, and develop digital architectures to
meet program needs.

Design and develop high speed digital systems, and FPGA architectures.
-
Tasks include requirement generation, VHDL design, FPGA design, module design,
simulations, verification, unit design, and COTS implementation.
-
Responsibilities also include test generation and integration.
Qualifications:
-
BSEE is required with a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience.

Ability to obtain a U.S. secret security clearance.
Experience:
-
Requires a strong background in the application of the principles and
techniques of Electrical Engineering.
-
Must have experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, debugging and repairing
complex electrical equipment. Must have a broad skill set with experience with
digital and analog circuitry.

Strong technical design background in radio products and/or communications
and/or wireless networking protocols and/or military electronics products is
desired.

Experience with digital hardware development/support is required.
-
Interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
required.
