Description
Quality engineer will be responsible for influencing and improving quality from the suppliers as well as Avid Technology's internal and field quality. The Quality engineer will develop, implement and monitor quality assurance standards, processes and controls. These standards may include inspection levels, inspection points and the extent of testing or inspecting. Achieve desired quality levels by defining quality data and regular reporting requirements from key suppliers. Provide performance evaluation and issue corrective actions as necessary for under performing suppliers. Conduct process audits of existing and potential new suppliers. Perform source inspection activity as needed to support production.

Summary of minimum requirements:
Bachelor degree in engineering or technology field, 7 years experience in
quality engineering field working in computer industry.
Experience with electronics assemblies such as SMT, wave soldering, hand
solderingand box build.
Experience in manufacturing with manufacturing process creation and auditing.
Knowledge and experience with WEEE and ROHS compliance
Understanding of quality metrics and implementation for improving the quality of
new and existing products.
Experience with MS word & Excel, SAP, FileMaker Pro, Acrobat Distiller and
AutoCAD.
Must have good communication (written and oral), interpersonal skills and team
player attitude.
Candidate must possess ability to utilize appropriate statistical process
control tools and techniques.
Must have ability to work with minimum guidance and supervision.
