Essential
Functions:
-
Install or upgrade,
configure and troubleshoot UNIX (HPUX, AIX, Solaris, and Linux), Windows,
Network Appliance, network infrastructure (Cisco, Dell, Others) and other
information technology systems based on standard processes.
-
Maintain a diverse array of
NetApp storage appliances and assist in the rapid deployment of provisioning
by automated methods.
-
Monitor system stability and
performance and ensure the smooth and efficient utilization of all resources.
-
Reconfigure grid computing
and storage for different users and tests.
-
Be part of an engineering
team responsible for shared corporate resources and infrastructure with 24
hour availability.
-
Attend internal client
meetings and stay attuned to users needs and assist the engineering community
with technical issues.
-
Assist in planning resources
to meet schedules and requirements, manage resources, keep software tools, and
equipment running smoothly.

Support equipment lifecycle
activities: procurement, logistics and inventory of equipment and software.
-
Assist client community with
technical issues.
-
Work with external vendors.
-
Keep track of projects/tasks
in our online ticketing system, writing comprehensive documentation,
participating in the weekly departmental review/planning meetings.
Requirements:
-
Energetic, customer service
oriented with strong interpersonal skills, dependable, flexible and able to
lift approximately 50 pounds.

5+ years of experience
administrating UNIX and Microsoft Windows (2003, XP,) production environments.
-
Good knowledge of Data
Storage required with a working knowledge of NetApp DataONTAP.
-
Knowledge of at least three
different UNIX/LINUX(Solaris, AIX, or HP/UX and Redhat or Novel/SuSE Linux),
platforms, and working knowledge of at least one other.

Experience with Windows
operating platforms(2000,2003,XP).

Prefer familiarity with
automated quality assurance laboratory environments.

Prefer experience with Data
Storage iSCSI, Fiber Channel, SAN protocols, system.

Booting methods and a
working knowledge of NetApp DataONTAP.

Programming or scripting
skills considered helpful(PERL, BASH, KSH, PHP, VBS).

Good knowledge of TCP/IP and
Windows Back Office networking (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory).
-
Good knowledge of Cisco IOS.
-
Working knowledge of
applications such as MS Exchange, Databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and
Perforce, MS Word, Viso.
-
Good interpersonal, verbal
and written skills, ability to work with other lab administrators as a team.

Ability to troubleshoot and
resolve system problems.
-
Ability to work
independently and in a timely fashion, requiring little direction to do
tasks/objectives.

Must be able to travel (less
than 5%).
