Description
The Engineer who joins our team will provide structural engineering support for the engineering and architectural groups in the Seattle office and will be part of a growing practice that works closely with other technical experts in the Northwest region.
Responsibilities will include analysis, design and preparation of plans, specifications & estimates for design projects. The job will include exposure to a variety of different project types including new and renovated buildings, utilities, surface transportation, and airport facilities. It is expected the individual will interact with other disciplines in URS, clients, contractors, and equipment vendors.

Minimum Requirements :
BS Civil Engineering from an accredited Program in Civil Structural Engineering.
Candidate must have a United States recognized PE license and a SE license from
the State of Washington, Oregon or California. If licensed in State other than
Washington, must be willing to begin reciprocity procedures immediately.
Six years minimum working in the design of structures as a structural engineer
or under the direction of a licensed structural engineer. Candidate must have
experience in preparation of structural calculation packages, Construction
Documents (CDs) - Plans Specifications & Estimates (PS&E), and reports on
structural aspects of a project and will perform field investigations on
on-going construction projects. Must be knowledgeable in the interpretation and
proper use of applicable codes.
The candidate must be available to perform field work and travel on short-term
field assignments. The candidate must have good oral and written communication
skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, working knowledge of AutoCad (Version
2004 or later), and experience with structural design software models. Valid
driver's license is required.
Responsibilities will include:
Assist in the delivery of the structural portions of design packages on assigned
projects; assist with project planning and design; and provide the required
support to project teams in the delivery of satisfactory outcomes to the Client.
Direct specific portions of design packages and undertake technical work
associated with design with the use and application of relevant structural
design software.
Assist in the the delivery of the projects documentation to the standards of URS
and the Client, within specified timeframes and budgets.
