Gas welding is also very popular as arc welding. In This process gas is used to produce high temperature flame. Normally Oxygen & acetylene used to make flame. A certain rate of oxygen and acetylene mixed to produce a certain temperature Oxy-acetylene flame. This flame temperature may rise up to 7000dig C. By this flame gas welding done. Brass welding mainly done by this gas flame.
But I think gas flame is most popular for cutting metals. Metal can easily cut by this flame.
Beside acetylene, Hydrogen also used for producing Oxy-hydrogen flame with same property.
