Details of Twisted-Pair Cable
|
Twisted-pair cable consists of at least 1 pair of copper wires. In order to reduce the occurrence of external interference, the copper wires are insulated and wound around each other. Twisted-pair cables are used for home connections to the telephone company (voice and data) as well as for many Local Area Network (LAN) connections as a low-cost alternative to coaxial or fiber-optic cable.
