Details on CE2000 General Control Software

CE2000 General Control Software

Features

  • Allows digital controllers and filters to be graphically developed and then run with simulated virtual or real-time systems
  • Easy & logical to use icon based, menu driven, drag and drop format
  • Comprehensive library of control and instrumentation blocks including standard controller / filter configurations
  • Connects to the real world using analogue to digital / digital to analogue interface
  • Ideal for use at all training and academic levels as well as for
    research / industrial development applications
  • Supported by a comprehensive technical, theoretical and applications based user guide / text book
  • Supports current practices and techniques used in the control and process industries
  • Compatible with existing TecQuipment Control products

And many moreÖ!

CE2000 is a Windows software package offering many powerful features to allow students and experienced control engineers, to develop and test a wide selection of controller and filter configurations and strategies.

With CE2000 controller design and implementation are part of the same logical process, significantly reducing the learning difficulties a student may have while speeding up the time it takes to actually achieve a fully working controller configuration.

CE2000 is fully compatible with the existing range of control engineering models available from TecQuipment which exhibit a wide selection of system responses, including: linear/non-linear, stable/unstable, oscillatory, multi-variable.

With CE2000 it is possible to not only model one or more possible controller solutions but also to simulate their theoretical responses and/or investigate their actual responses with physical systems.

Because of its open and flexible structure CE2000 and its associated interface devices may also be used to model, simulate and run any compatible system.

Hardware Requirements

CE2000 software is supplied on 3.5" diskette with a comprehensive operating/technical/applications manual which includes a library of controller and filter configurations as standard.

The CE2000 software will run on a 386 based IBM compatible PC with 387 co-processor, Windows 3.1 or above (including Windows '95) installed and 4Mb of ram. However the recommended minimum configuration is a 486DX with 8Mb of ram.

Circuits can be designed and edited and data files reviewed at any time. For real time control or simulation one of TecQuipment's computer interfaces is required: either the CE120 Controller or the CE122 Digital Interface

CE2000 is used in much the same way as you would traditionally develop a control system on a sheet of paper or on a chalkboard.

Traditional Method CE2000

Draw the circuit elements in block form in the required position. These may include proportional/differentiating/integrating amplifiers, signal generators, power supplies, instrumentation, etc.

Drag and drop the required circuit elements from the comprehensive library of standard or customised blocks available on screen.

Link the blocks together with lines, with arrows indicating the flow of signals, to produce the system required.

Connect the blocks together as required using the wiring tool/soldering iron cursor. In a similar way to using a soldering iron to build a real electronic circuit.

Re-draw the diagram as many times as required until the desired circuit is produced.

Re-position the icon blocks and change the wiring as required.

Estimate the gains and settings of each of the blocks to achieve the required performance.

Set the estimated gains and settings of each of the blocks to achieve the desired system performance.

Use another medium eg: hardware and/or software to create and test the proposed design.

Press the 'Play' button to run the circuit to test the design and make adjustments to maximise performance as required.

Any mistakes may mean starting again.

Save the test results and circuit configuration to recall later and obtain a hard copy of graphed system responses.
