Heatsinks nowadays are pretty expensive. I can spend anywhere from $25-$70 for a normal air cooling heatsink. The heatsink is without a doubt amongst the most crucial parts of the computer, especially since the CPU will not function properly without it. Shelling out that much money even when you don't need that good of a heatsink sometimes will run your pockets dry. I would never dare use a low priced $10-$20 heatsink as my last experience with one resulted in a burnt Duron core. Then approximately two weeks ago when I was approached with a chance to review a heatsink that only retailed for $14, I was really reluctant to review the product but I took the chance and took it for a spin. Well after all the testing was done I am still on the same computer therefore that's a start. Contents At $14 I didn't expect much, the heatsink, fan preinstalled and a small tube of thermal grease (cheapo stuff). The heatsink itself was quite impressive with a silver colored finish (nickel plated) and was made of copper. Overall the heatsink leaves a lasting impression with it's fairly good quality build for such a low price. One complain though, the base of the heatsink was scratchy as can be seen from the pictures, not a quality finish.
