Details of Accumulator:
|
The storage ring in which successive pulses of antiprotons are collected in order to create an antiproton beam of reasonable intensity for colliding beams physics. The Accumulator is designed to accept a pulse of antiprotons from the Debuncher every few seconds and accumulate up to 5 X 1011 antiprotons in several hours.
