Since Amistar's inception in 1971, the primary business has focused on the design and manufacture of products and automation solutions for a wide variety of businesses and products: Electronics Manufacturing Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Research and Production RFID tag Manufacturing Sports Equipment Manufacture Eye-glass Lens Manufacture Kiosks for Prescription Medication Dispensing and Storage Amistar's core competency, engineering complex machines for the automation of specialized processes, includes expertise in mechanism design, servo systems, fluid control, electro-mechanical systems design, sensor systems, barcode and RFID systems, illumination and optical systems, robotics, and software system design with friendly interfaces and efficient integration with Customer's computer processes. Special attention is paid to making each design cost effective, reliable in operation, efficient to manufacture, and easy to maintain. Production machines are manufactured under the auspices of ISO-9001:2000 (see box below). Amistar applies these talents to the design and manufacture of standard, off-the-shelf products, and to customer-specific machines that solve specialized process and manufacturing requirements. In addition, Amistar's Marketing and Field Service organization provides support for both the standard Amistar products as well as the electronics manufacturing products designed and built by Amistar's Japanese partner, i-pulse Co. Ltd.
