RAM Universal was established in 1982 by two experienced valve / mechanical engineers who based their marketing policies and standards to meet the requirements of an ever increasing customer demand. Oringinally we concentrated on design of new plant and the modification of existing plant and products. It was a formula which allowed the rapid growth of our company, the result of which in 1989 we were able to puchase new purpose built premises in Broughton Astley with in-house engineering workshops and testing facilities. These facilities together with our increased expertise moved us to the forefront of valve supply and their automation. The broad base of our UK customers included Breweries, Food Process, Power Generation and O.E.M.'s. We have now developed even further to include the Chemical and Pharmaceutical industries who are showing an increasing interest. In 1993, despite the recession, RAM Universal put its faith in itself and the UK industry by doubling its stockholding facility to the extent that we are now carring a quater of a million pounds prime stock at our premises in the Midlands. At present, our stock comprises of the following: Omega Valve Systems Habonim Ball valves Forac Pneumatic Actuators RAMseal Metal Seated Ball Valves VAAS knife gate valves Reducing Valves Safety Relief Valves ITT Industrial valves (Richter, Fabri, Dia-Flo, Check-Rite, Cam-line, Cam-tite) Our technical knowledge was found to be invaluable in 1996, when we launched our in house valve, the 'Omega Valve System', at the N.E.C. Birmingham, and was dubbed by the press to be "the only new generic vavle type in fifty years". In 2000 we received a government grant and were awarded a 'Smart Award' to develop our inique 'RAM Seal' patented range of metal seated ball valves, the valve was developed as a direct result of in-depth discussions with our customers in all the industries we have traditionally worked with. Although we are growing as a company, our primary objective is to ensure that we give all our customers, whatever the size and interest, the same care and attention which we expect and insist on from all our suppliers. To this end we are working to the strict guidelines laid out in our ISO9000 approved quality policy, and as a result attained full British Standards Institute accreditation in January 1997. Our engineering team can advise you on which product is suitable for your applications and with the aid of our machine shop we can adapt, manufacture our modify to your specifications.
