General Assembly Corporation (GAC) is a leader in the electronics contract manufacturing field. We specialize in the assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBA) and in electromechanical (ELM) assembly for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). In our PCB assembly, we use surface-mount technology (SMT), through hole, ball grid array (BGA), & chip on board (COB). In addition, we have a lead-free capability. GAC's American plant and offices are in North Carolina, and we have ISO-certified facilities in Thailand and China. Our highly skilled staff manage projects of every size, from making the one prototype to high-volume production runs. GAC contracts on a labor-only basis (where our client supplies the parts and we assemble the product) and on a turnkey basis (where we source the components and build the product, too). The printed circuit boards (PCBs) and other subassemblies we make at GAC become parts in the electronic goods our clients produce. Increasingly, however, we are “box-building,” where we manufacture our clients’ products from beginning to end, even packaging them, shipping them out to end customers, and handling warranty, repair, and administrative issues. This completely frees our clients to concentrate on design, sales, marketing, and other vital nonmanufacturing issues.
