Founded by Boyd Wilkinson, a specialist in process and product design, S.L.I. opened for business in the Summer of 2003. S.L.I. was created to fulfill a need for innovation in the industry. Boyd's experience and knowledge of many of the most up-to-date processing methods gives S.L.I. a true advantage to our customers: higher quality parts at a lower cost.
We can take any core material and laminate it between any facings to provide the best balance of strength, corrosion resistance, durability, and cost. Our sandwich panel manufacturing processes include elevated temperature film adhesive bonding, liquid adhesive room temperature bonding, and press bonding.
For composite parts, we work with dry and prepreg carbon fiber, fiberglass, and aramid (kevlar) fiber. We have the ability to build parts using open molds, compression molds, resin transfer, resin infusion, and vacuum processes.
