Tim Ryan heads the team at TRS Auto Repairs. He has had several years experience in mechanics and sets his business apart by delivering not only affordable and honest prices but a personalised service to all his clients.

It all started 33 years ago when Tim commenced his apprenticeship in Melbourne.

"I was working on Jaguar, Rover, Triumph and Leyland. Once I completed my formal training, now qualified, I moved to the Gold Coast."

His experience continued by working for various dealerships such as Holden, Nissan, Mitsubishi, continuing with local workshops and service stations. He also spent a few years working on trucks and earth moving equipment.

Through this experience, Tim saw a great need for more personalised service to customers and in particular to women, who seemed to be ill treated by the trade.

"So I started TRS Auto Repairs in 1994 and it has grown now to 5 staff and two locations. We have been located in Southport for 13 years and recently opened our Guanaba workshop in order to service the growing need for professional service in the Mt Tamborine and Hinterland areas."

Tim Ryan – Business Owner. Southport & Guanaba
I have had 34 years experience in the motor trade. I completed my apprenticeship in Melbourne working on Jaguar, Leyland, Triumph and Rolls Royce.
Moving to Queensland in 1980 and worked for various dealerships; Jaguar, Holden, Mitsubishi and Nissan. From the dealerships I moved onto general workshops gaining a lot more experience in a wider variety of vehicles and different types of repairs.
I then had a five year stint working on earthmoving equipment and trucks which I really enjoyed.
I purchased my business in 1994 and have built it up from a one man operation to now 5 permanent staff and casuals as I need them.
I now enjoy working with a great crew and am looking forward to building up the business and providing great expertise and service to all our valued customers.

Shannon – Qualified Mechanic / Southport Workshop Supervisor
Completed his mechanical trade apprenticeship with Mercedes Benz and Subaru in Sydney, he left after 7 years to manage the local service station, after 8 years of good service moved to the Gold Coast with his wife and two daughters. Shannon worked at some workshops on the Coast and felt he needed more of a challenge; he then met Tim and TRS Auto Repairs and is glad to find a business that has the same good work ethic and procedures as he believes in. He is happily employed and has now been with TRS for 3 years and enjoys the challenge of helping building the business and looking after people and their vehicles.

Mark - Qualified Mechanic
Mark is a born and bred Gold Coaster; he has had 6 years experience in the automotive industry. He started his apprenticeship later than usual but had a great desire to become a motor mechanic and after being with us for over 4 years has completed his apprenticeship and always gives TRS and our customers 100%.

Brendan – Qualified Mechanic
I started my apprenticeship in 2003 in Albany WA and completed my training in 2007 while still in Albany. Moved to Gold Coast in early 2008 and commenced employment with Tim at TRS Auto Repairs.
I have experience in most cars, old to new, European to Australian, and from 4wds to sedans.
I have an interest in import and performance cars, especially turbo, V8 and rotaries; I also enjoy sorting out electronic problems of which most modern vehicles have these days.
Tim has provided us with the most modern and up to date equipment for diagnosing any problems with EFI, ABS, SRS and any other electrical problems.
I am enjoying life on the Gold Coast and working at TRS and looking forward to a long career on the Gold Coast.

Cherie - Office
Born in NSW and have lived in Qld for the past 30 years. I am given a hard time during State of Origin (NRL) as I barrack for the Blues.
I always have a smile for you and enjoy meeting new people and being helpful to the clients.
I enjoy a good joke and laugh and working with the boys in the workshop.
I am only too happy to help you with any problems you might have in getting your vehicle either to or from our workshop for servicing and repairs.
