About Company

Located in the Montreal area, Metafoam is developing and manufacturing open-cell metal foams with an exclusive and distinctive production process. Metafoam's basic technology comes from a discovery made at the Industrial Materials Institute (IMI) of the National Research Council of Canada (NRC). In 2001, IMI-NRC developed a new metal & ceramic foams production process which alleviates the constraints of conventional processes. In sum, the IMI-NRC process leads to metal foams with the highest surface area in the industry, the lowest production costs and a greater repeatability.
