Our personnel have played an integral part in the birth of the Ground Source Heat Pump industry in the UK. We were accredited by the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) in America in 1996 and since then have been involved in ground loop installation, system design, technical sales and equipment supply on over 250 installations. We are also accredited under the current Clear Skies and SCHRI government grant schemes.

The company has gained extensive system design experience over the past few years working with Swedish experts. Our experience to date has included new and existing houses from the Hebrides to Lands End including the Managing Director's own self build in Cornwall and more recently his Victorian Terrace in Sheffield (using an air source system).

We have also worked with housing associations and developers on multiple units and district heating schemes. Further involvement with commercial systems has included schools, visitors' centres and offices. These jobs have been horizontal, vertical and pond loops as well as open loop and air source systems.

Phil Moore, the Managing Director, has over 10 years experience in the heat pump business. He was accredited by IGSHPA (international ground source heat pump association) in the USA in 1996 and has undergone extensive training and education with IVT and Thermia of Sweden over the past 5 years. Phil has been involved with over 200 GSHP installations from installing ground loops to turnkey projects. Alongside his unparalleled experience of ground conditions across the UK he has extensive knowledge of the operating philosophy of GSHP systems and how internal distribution systems should be designed and operated to optimise efficiencies and reduce servicing requirements.

Alan Donald, one of our heat pump installers, has 23 years experience as a time served electrician and electrical contractor. He completed his apprenticeship in 1982, and was qualified as a craftsman electrician. Since 1997 Alan has been at the forefront of practical heat pump activities in the UK. Installations include various boreholes arrangements, using a range of drilling equipment for access to compact and difficult sites and various ground conditions. Alan has installed over 70 Thermia heat pump systems from 4 - 60kW in size under sub-contract to ECO Heat Pumps Ltd.
