ELS was founded in 1987. The core business at that time was the representation of laser and related products manufactured by leading US companies for the German speaking market in Europe.

In 1998 the Micro Systems division was added. In the beginning, the division designed and manufactured customized test, alignment and pigtailing stations for producers of optoelectronic devices. Today all kind of customized test and micro production set-ups for various high technology industries are realized.

In the beginning of 2001, ELS abandoned the distribution business and started the development of a novel solid-state thin-disk laser.

The laser division offers its unique advanced VersaDisk product line with unmatched beam quality and spectral characteristics for scientific and industrial users.

About Company

To achieve this demanding goal, we are organized accordingly. All positions are filled with highly qualified personnel. Almost half of the employees have a college degree or a doctorate in physics or engineering.
This is the cornerstone for the development, design and manufacturing of well-performing products and services.
As ELS is privately held, there is no need to please outside short-term oriented investors so that we can concentrate entirely on our customers.

Geographical Coverage

All business units operate worldwide. The US subsidiary ELS Electronic Laser System Corporation (based in Texas) is now fully operational. It sells and services the systems and products of all divisions in North and South America.
The Laser Division has assigned exclusive distributors in various countries.
