He has investigated a wide variety of losses for insurance companies, plaintiff and defense attorneys, businesses, self-insureds and government entities including the Texas Department of Transportation and county government.
Allen Mallory is a degreed mechanical engineer with over 7 years of industry experience in manufacturing engineering and operations. Allen has developed world class manufacturing solutions resulting in increased throughput, higher quality yields and a safer environment for personnel, equipment and product. Allen has worked on forensic investigations involving machine design and guarding, personal injury, industrial safety and automobile accidents. Allen received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Baylor University in 1998. He also obtained a minor in mathematics.

SMA has many years experience evaluating building failures related to design defects and construction/installation errors. We have investigated many and varied problems with residential, commercial structures and systems including air-conditioning systems, electrical systems, lightning protection systems, LPG systems, water intrusion through walls, roofs and plumbing system leaks, evaluation of roof system failures caused by installation defects, hail damage, roof drainage systems and deterioration of roof systems and underlying insulation and decking/support systems.
SMA has conducted infrared examinations for large commercial roofs to determine roof condition and leakage areas and has identified the sources and causes of the leaks using this technology. As a result we have assisted owners/insurers in determining the best repair strategies.
SMA has years experience investigating foundation failures. Jim Mallory has served on two Residential Foundation Committee support teams for the Texas Board of Professional Engineers contributing to the foundation design and foundation repair committees.
