LGC Wireless began in 1996 when two UC Berkeley PhD students, John Georges and Dave Cutrer along with their professor Kam Lau, came up with a novel way to adapt fiber optic technology to improve wireless communication. With this idea the company was launched in 1997 and began marketing and producing our first product, the LGCell® system. LGC Wireless was granted its first patent in 1998.
