In 1864, an Irish immigrant named Timothy McCarthy started a lumber business and began to build farmhouses and barns in and around Ann Arbor, Michigan. 141 years later the firm he founded, McCarthy, has become one of America’s largest and most diversified construction companies through a sustained period of strategic growth. In April 2005, a new independent McCarthy company, MC Industrial, Inc., was created to serve the very specific national needs of that market.
