FOR SALE------ ONE OF A KIND, Small family, wood box manufacturing business; also other wood specialty items. This has been a lifetime business that actually started over fifty years ago; 1952. Initially it was a service only, a contract wood box nailing operation, mostly apple, pear and cherry boxes. Over the years, as agriculture boxes turned in favor of corrugated cartons, wood boxes ceased to be used. The last commercial wood fruit box used in this area was for cherries, which converted to cardboard in 1978. Now we make custom specialty and gift boxes and have added Cedar Grilling Planks. Also we regularly do all sorts of special custom mill work. Over all the business has had some very good years, also a few lean years. The business currently is growing and with the potential I see for the business I wish the changes had happened twenty-five years ago. Unfortunately I have put on some years. I retired in 1997 (on paper) and by the end of this 2006 season will be 73 years old and ready to hang it completely up and sell all the equipment at good prices and just lease the facility I occupy. This business has tremendous potential for the right buyer and especially for someone who already is functioning successfully in another related business. For several good reasons this business is unique and I truly believe has no counterpart any where in the entire USA as well as Canada. . Purchase cost would for the most part be for all the wood milling machinery, six nailing machines, some inventory items and many other miscellaneous supportive things as well as any active accounts. Also, it would include some "on hands" showing and training on the operation of all the equipment, especially the Baker quad resaw and the unique, irreplaceable General nailing machines.
