Company Profile
AstronomyToday started off in 2000 and ever since has aimed to be a valuable resource by providing articles and features on astronomy, cosmology and space exploration. We've been publishing a sky guide in various guises over the years and now, building upon all this, we hope to foster a vibrant community of astronomy enthusiasts on our discussion forums.
Take a look at the profiles of the AstronomyToday team members below. You can find our email addresses on our contact page.
About Company
I own and run Astronomy Today, I've written quite a few articles for the site (particularly in the early years) and used to edit the sky guide before I passed it on into Lydia's capable hands. I enjoy reading about anything in the area of astronomy and space so running this site is a great hobby and nothing like work! As far as practising astronomy goes, I'm up from my armchair and out observing with my 8" (20cm) Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope whenever there's a clear sky (not all that often in Ireland!). I hope you enjoy visiting our site and do keep coming back.
Lydia Lousteaux
I observe from my property near Columbus, Texas with binoculars and a 5" Celestron GOTO, a gift from a friend. I have authored articles for women's magazines and cook books over a 25 year period, under several pen names, (L.L. is one of them). I am honoured to write AT's Sky Guide. I think it would be interesting and fun for our readers to send in their favourite observing lists thus increasing the Sky Guide's utility for world wide observers. I am assistant editor of the updated I.O.T.A. (International Occultation Timing Association) manual, still a work in progress.
Grant Wallensky
I co-admin the Community pages with Marc and at his behest update the articles. I have always loved the written work of Arthur Clarke and Michio Kaku, and my hobby of finding space-based discussion boards ended when I found Astronomy Today. I am not a practising amateur astronomer – I find myself pulled towards space science, colonization, and exploration. Then again, there are not many stars to view in Los Angeles but when I travel abroad to college, there will be plenty of opportunity!
